| Poinsettia Sales New Beginnings Enterprises |
Each year in the fall, individuals who choose our day service program approach thier communities to sell
poinsettias. Funds raised will be set aside for the individuals with developmental disabilities’ social and leisure
opportunities, such as parties, camps, and special trips. This fundraiser also serves as an opportunity for
individuals in our organization to increase social capital & their interactive skills within their community.

Of course with sales comes competition, so we have a trophy that gets to stay at the work activity center with the most sales for a
whole year. In addition, an engraved plate is added with the town who won and the year. Individual sales are rewarded as well. Top
seller receives a $50 gift card and depending on the number of sales, everyone else receives $40, $30, $20, or $10. There is an
awards luncheon in Neodesha where we gather to present the trophy and gift cards. New Beginnings staff bring side dishes and
desserts, while the main course is catered. This is a very exciting time as individuals from all three locations don't get the opportunity to
see each other very often.
